189.1 Addenda for Public Review

Addendum i - Second Public review Draft - This addendum adds a requirement in section 7.4.6.1 (Lighting Power Allowance) that the exterior LPDs allowed by 189.1 be some percentage of those allowed by 90.1-2010.

Addendum m - Second Public review Draft - The first public review of this addendum included modifications to Section 6.3.2.3 (b) (HVAC Systems and Equipment) for cooling tower drift, but based on comments from the first public review, this ISC restores the original language in the Standard.

Addendum n - Second Public review Draft - This addendum modifies the proposed language to delete the requirement for a minimum initial SRI value. It also editorially restructures Section 5.3.2.4 (Solar Reflective Index) to separate roofing and non-roofing products to give clarity.

Addendum u - First Public review Draft - This addendum adds a requirement in section 7.4.6.8 (Controls for Exterior Sign Lighting) for automatic controls to assure that lighted signs which are bright enough to be visible during daytime hrs are operated during nighttime hrs with a 65% reduction in power.

Addendum v - First Public review Draft - This addendum adds in section 7.4.3.12 (Automatic Control of HVAC and Lights in Hotel/Motel Guest Rooms) a minimum time period to automatic HVAC and lighting control requirements for guest rooms.

Addendum aa - First Public review Draft - In section 8 (Indoor Environmental Quality)This addendum provides more flexibility in achieving minimum daylight requirements, allows for the alternative of using the performance path to show equivalent daylighting benefits and adds occupancy exceptions to the requirement for diffusing glazing.

Addendum w - First Public review Draft - This addendum adds automatically controlled dynamic building façade systems as alternatives to the permanent projection requirements in sections 7 (Energy Efficiency), 8 (Indoor Environmental Quality) and section 10 (Construction & Plans For Operation).

Addendum x - First Public review Draft - This addendum modifies in section 5.3.3 (reduction of Light Pollution) the Backlight, Uplight and Glare (BUG) threshold values to match those found in the latest draft of the IDA/IES Model Lighting Ordinance.

Addendum y - First Public review Draft - This addendum in section 7.4 (Prescriptive Option) clarifies the requirements for heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and service water heating equipment when compliance path is chosen for the building project where federal minimum preemptive efficiency requirements are applicable.

Addendum z - First Public review Draft - This addendum adds a new Table C-16 (Commercial Refrigeration Min Efficiency Requirements) to Appendix C (Prescriptive Equipment Efficiency Tables) which covers efficiency requirements for commercial refrigeration.
