Standard 189.1
Standard 189.1: the Standard for the Design of High-Performance Green Buildings. This standard was developed as a collaborative effort with representatives from ASHRAE,USGBC and IES. It was written in code language and contains the minimum acceptable criteria for high-performance green buildings. The criteria covers six broad categories: Site Sustainability, Water Use Efficiency, Energy Efficiency, Indoor Environmental Quality, Building’s Impact on the Atmosphere, Materials, and Resources, and Construction and Plans for Operation. Each category contains a statement of scope, compliance paths, mandatory provisions, prescriptive option and a performance option.
