HVAC Noise and Vibration Control October 16, 2014This presentation on will focus primarily on the best practices and strategies for dealing with acoustics on rooftop equipment. The presentation will begin with brief definitions of some common acoustic terminology and move into a discussion of the process of acoustical engineering as it relates to determining how, when, and where acoustic treatments should be considered. The bulk of presentation will focus on identifying multiple noise transmission paths specifically for curb mounted rooftop equipment with the use of case histories to illustrate problematic approaches and installations. In addition to covering these transmission paths, a good deal of the presentation will focus on strategies for successfully specifying acoustics on new design projects. The end of the presentation will quickly cover the treatment options for rooftop equipment as well as the recommended acoustic design considerations for ductwork.
